The ESCWA approach to partnerships is guided by the understanding that no development intervention can succeed in a silo. Achieving all facets of sustainable development demands concerted efforts underpinned by universal principles and evidence-based analysis, with short, medium and long-term trajectories. As a regional commission of the United Nations, ESCWA partners with various actors, across institutional divides and different operational modalities, to situate its development interventions within a broader spectrum of efforts to achieve the 2030 Agenda in the Arab region.

ESCWA has partnered with member States, development agencies, intergovernmental organizations, agencies within and outside the United Nations system, civil society organizations and the private sector, so as to create maximum synergy and coherence towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and ensure that no one is left behind.
