As part the activities of the Multi-Stakeholder Platform for Protecting Biodiversity in the Arab Region, the Land Degradation in Arid Agricultural Ecosystems Working Group, led by the Arab Centre for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) and comprising 13 member institutions, is convening for its first in-person meeting.
The meeting is aimed at discussing a number of proposed projects to combat land degradation, restore biodiversity, and enhance ecosystem resilience by strengthening protected areas, planting native forest species, leveraging local and traditional knowledge, and adopting innovative approaches.
