The third Regional Steering Committee meeting for the "Resilient Water Solutions Against Climate Change in Jordan and Lebanon" project, led by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in collaboration with ESCWA and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), is convening in Cairo.
The meeting is aimed at discussing project advancements, challenges and solutions, and fostering regional learning on climate change adaptation. It includes around 40 participants, including high-level representatives from the Jordanian and Lebanese Governments, ministerial representatives, focal points from executing entities, and United Nations partners from both countries.
The project focuses on promoting climate resilience and adaptation in Jordan and Lebanon, particularly in areas vulnerable to extreme weather events. Financed by the Adaptation Fund, it aims to enable local communities to adapt to changing climate conditions through sustainable water management practices and innovative irrigation methods.
