On the sidelines of the 5th Arab Sustainable Development Week in Cairo, ESCWA and the League of Arab States (LAS) organized a session on 25 November to discuss the Arab Sustainable Development Report (ASDR) and the evolution of policymaking for the SDGs in the region.
Discussions focused on the extent to which legal frameworks enable the formulation of effective policies and the success of these efforts in the Arab region, as well as the efficiency of institutional structures in developing integrated policies that cover multiple sectors and engage various stakeholders.
Launched this year at the High-level Political Forum, the ASDR is a quadrennial flagship publication produced by ESCWA, in collaboration with other United Nations entities working in the Arab region.
