During the OECD Global Forum on Competition, ESCWA, in collaboration with the OECD and UNCTAD, organized a side event to address challenges in implementing competition policies across the region.
The event, held on 3 December, brought together Arab competition authorities and focused on key topics, including a review of competition-related initiatives undertaken since the 5th Arab Competition Forum and the progress made in implementing its recommendations. Participants also deliberated on priorities and preparations for the 6th Arab Competition Forum next May.
Additionally, ESCWA participated in different activities during the Forum, focusing on the role of competition law and policy in addressing inequality, challenges in cross-border merger reviews, and tackling market failures in the food supply chain.
