On 8 and 9 July, ESCWA, the National Aid Fund, WFP, World Bank and ILO, organized a workshop on “Expansion of Economic Empowerment Initiatives and Programmes for Poor Families Targeted by the National Aid Fund”.
 
The workshop, held in Amman, aimed to support the National Aid Fund in preparing a strategy for economic empowerment that aligns with the new phase of the Fund’s work, which focuses on transitioning beneficiary families from dependency on aid to active participation in work and production by enhancing their skills and capabilities to engage in the labour market.
 
The workshop reviewed also a set of international best practices considered as pioneering in the field of economic empowerment.
