Goods in transport may be classified according to the UNECE – Codes for types of cargo, packages and packaging materials, Recommendation 21, Geneva March 1986. The cargo classes are: Liquid bulk; Solid bulk; Large freight container; Other freight container; Palletised goods; Pre-slung goods; Mobile, self-propelled units; Other mobile units; and Other cargo types.
