Definition:
Is an international environmental treaty negotiated at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. It entered into force on 21 March 1994 and today it has near-universal membership. The 195 countries that have ratified the Convention are called Parties to the Convention.
