The regional workshop aims to strengthen the capacity of national statistical offices in Arab countries to identify statistical gaps, to compile, classify and analyze transport data and to strengthen cooperation with regional and national partners to ensure consistency and harmonization of data collection and dissemination methodologies in line with the regional and international recommendations, knowledge sharing on best practices and lessons learned in the collection and dissemination of transport data, enhancing cooperation in the dissemination of transport data and contributing to the establishment of a regional transport database as well as identifying future needs of countries in terms of capacity building needs, efficiency development and exchange of successful experiences.
