As part of the ESCWA mandate to promote human development in the Arab region and in response to the conflict in Yemen, ESCWA launched the Yemen Vision for Recovery and Development initiative in 2022, aimed at supporting Yemenis in developing a national vision for recovery and sustainable development.
In this framework, a two-phase dialogue is being held to clarify the goals, priorities and strategies of the recovery vision and enrich the document and its outcomes. The first phase of the dialogue includes classifying the topics most relevant to recovery into thematic areas that address structural challenges as well as identifying the most urgent development challenges. The second phase involves validation meetings with experts, public officials and stakeholders at the governmental, local, regional and international levels to discuss the recovery vision document.
The vision will be shared with the public and stakeholders by publishing a report after the close of the dialogue and validation rounds.
