The 3-day Arab Forum for Sustainable Development (AFSD) today wrapped up with key messages from the region, which will be delivered at the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) next July in New York.
The Forum called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, allowing the unconditional delivery of humanitarian aid and ending the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the Palestinian territory in line with international law. It also urged Governments in the region to take advantage of the Summit of the Future to push for comprehensive reform of the multilateral system.
The Forum also discussed a set of solutions to address poverty, food insecurity and climate change, and explored ways to expand digitization efforts and ensure access to information technology, as well as developing partnerships between the public and private sectors to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
