Cloud computing is a revolutionary technology that enables users to access and utilize computing resources, including servers, storage, databases and software applications, over the internet. During the recovery phase from crises and wars, government cloud computing can contribute to preserving basic data and applications and accelerating the transition to a state of economic growth.
In this context, ESCWA and the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) in the Sudan organized on 31 January a national capacity-building workshop on cloud computing plans and requirements.
The workshop highlighted the main concepts of cloud computing, its potential impact, its implementation requirements, and presented examples of best regional and international practices in developing relevant policies.
