On the sidelines of COP 26, ESCWA elaborated on actions to increase resilience to climate disasters based on human rights.
The latter falls within the framework of wider discussions on integrated water-climate resilience management to mitigate adverse impacts of water and climate-related hazards and achieve long-term social, economic, and environmental well-being.
Furthermore, ESCWA attended the meetings of the Arab Group of Negotiators providing the needed support and discussing the needs of Arab States to enhance their climate action. The role of the Commission was also highlighted during the Arab Ministerial Meeting.
