UN-Habitat has launched on 20 October a 4-year project on “Increasing the resilience of both displaced persons and host communities to climate change-related water challenges in Lebanon and Jordan”, under which ESCWA will execute the knowledge management strategy by sharing lessons learned and good practices in the two countries.

During the launch event, ESCWA highlighted its work on climate change via the Arab Centre for Climate Change Policies (ACCCP) and the Regional Initiative for the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources and Socio-Economic Vulnerability in the Arab Region (RICCAR), as well as its efforts to address water challenges in the region.

The project, funded by the Adaptation Fund, will be implemented in partnership with the Governments of Jordan and Lebanon through their Ministries of Environment as well as, with ACCCP and RICCAR as the primary platforms for sharing the project’s results.
