Within the framework of the 7th UN Global Road Safety Week, ESCWA organized a regional dialogue session on 18 May at the UN House in Beirut, titled "Rethink Mobility".
Representatives of UN-Habitat, the World Bank and civil society organizations in Lebanon and the region shared ideas and experiences related to sustainable transportation methods, and discussed the urgent need to re-evaluate mobility within the global plan for the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety.
Participants also discussed the key messages of the UN Global Road Safety Week which focused on sustainable transport, road network design, pedestrian protection and other topics related to road traffic safety.
