To increase collaboration and share knowledge and experience in social protection in the Arab region, ESCWA organized the eighth meeting of the Expert Group on Social Protection Reform in the Arab Countries (EGSPR).
The meeting on 9 June addressed key policy reform options to extend social insurance coverage to those who are not eligible for social assistance, and are not formal employees. The meeting was an opportunity to familiarize EGSPR members with the latest tools developed by ESCWA to enhance social assistance programmes in the region.
Finally, ESCWA introduced forward-looking measures to achieve better outcomes.
