In a rapidly changing world, the demand for data is significantly increasing as societies strive to deal with emerging challenges. Therefore, efficient communication and coordination among data producers is crucial.
In this context, ESCWA, in collaboration with the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), held the “Arab Thematic Conference on Agile and Resilient National Statistical Systems” from 13 to 15 June in Amman, Jordan, to discuss priorities and emerging needs of statistical organizations to help them adapt in times of crises.
Representatives of member States shared experiences and strategies to cope with difficulties commonly encountered in the Arab region.
