Bulletin of Industrial Statistics for Arab Countries 2004-2010, No. 7
January 2012
This Bulletin aims at providing detailed data on industrial statistics for Arab countries to be used for evidence-based analysis and policymaking. The publication includes time series data and indicators for the period 2004-2010. It is divided into two parts. Part one contains summary tables on the overall industrial trends, including the levels of output measured as the per capita value added at constant prices, the labour productivity measured as the share of value added at constant prices per employee, the size of the contribution made by industry to gross domestic product at producer price and the average wage of employees in Arab countries. Part two presents tables of industrial statistics for each Arab country, namely data on the number of establishments, the number of employees, wages and salaries of employees, output, value added and industrial production index values. Data are drawn primarily from national sources, in addition to other sources whenever needed. Figures based on national sources are jointly compiled and verified by the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia and made available as a print publication and in electronic format. The publication is meant to be a reference for accurate and reliable data and statistical indicators from national sources covering the entire Arab region. It is designed for use of the public and private sectors, experts and researchers in the field and the regional and international organizations.
