The fourth regional training workshop in a series of workshops on Capacity Development for Climate Change Negotiations for the Arab Countries was held in Doha, Qatar during the period 19-21 May 2015 with the aim to provide a platform for knowledge exchange between experienced negotiators and junior staff from government institutions to increase the chances of successful future negotiations through national experiences and role play as well as develop a comprehensive overview of the outcomes and implications of the latest ad-hoc working groups' sessions that took place in 2015 and the COP 20 in Lima, Peru in December 2014.
The workshop was jointly organized with the League of Arab States and ESCWA and hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar to jointly support the capacity development initiative for young potential negotiators and climate change experts from the Arab countries.
The first and second regional workshops on Capacity Development for Climate Change Negotiations for the Arab Countries was held at ESCWA Technology Center in Amman-Jordan between 22 and 22 October 2013 in cooperation with LAS and the Jordanian Royal Scientific Society and 26 and 28 May 2014 jointly with LAS. The third workshop was jointly organized with Environment Public Authority in Kuwait during the period 11-13 November 2014 in preparation for the negotiations that took place in Lima-Peru (1-12 December 2014).
