ESCWA is organizing a workshop for rural women at Shabat Batir Organization in Batir, Jordan. The workshop focuses on renewable energy and its applications to support agriculture, food production, rural development, and women empowerment.
Within the framework of the Regional Initiative to Promote Small–Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND), solar photovoltaic (PV) systems were previously installed at this community-based organization and in other locations in Batir. This workshop seeks to ensure the sustainability and productivity of the PV systems by raising the awareness of the women on renewable energy and its transformative potential.
This event is part of a series of workshops conducted within the framework of REGEND to empower young people and women in Jordan.
