ESCWA is holding the Arab High-Level Conference on Beijing +20 to review the regional report prepared by the ESCWA Centre for Women (ECW), the Arab States Regional Office of UN-Women and the Department of Women, Family and Childhood (Social Affairs Sector) of the League of Arab States on progress made in implementing the Beijing Platform for Action 20 years after its adoption.
The report combines 21 national reports submitted by member States and is one of the five regional reports prepared by the regional commissions of the United Nations. The five regional reports will be consolidated into a global report to be presented by the Secretary-General before the General Assembly.
